A perfect day

What a marvelous day today!  We got up early and had a great breakfast of piles of fresh fruit and oatmeal and then suddenly everyone was arriving for our training ride.  By 1030 we were on our way.  Today was spectacular, fantastic sunny weather, no clouds in the sky, little breeze and all along the route trees bursting into green, the river flowing quickly, and the sound of your tires on the asphalt.  We rode and rode, stopping to laugh and brag about speeds or climbing a particular hill, the six of us enjoying the first perfect day of the summer.  We ended up in the St Lawrence market and ate at an Irish pub outside on the patio.  Green salad, burger and a pint of Kilkenny washed away the soreness of the first half of the ride and then we were back at it, riding home, mostly uphill but encouraging each other, overcoming fatigue and loving the riding.  Today we rode almost 40 km and in only 3 and a half hours.  A perfect day.  Everyone headed home to soak sore muscles and brag to loved ones, and my guy and I snacked on more fruit, cheeses and a hot cup of tea.  Well following a much earned shower and a power protein shake to relieve the pain in the muscles.  And then best of all our new headboard and dresser arrived, got brought in and set up without incident and right now my guy is napping peacefully.  Thai food for dinner and then a movie.  I am little overheated as my sun burn comes out but what a great great day!!!
