We got it! We bought our first home

We got it!  We got it!  We got it!! We are now the proud owners of our first home together and I couldn’t be happier.  It all seems suddenly too easy, finding it on Sunday and everything has gone right since.  The house felt like home once we walked in.  We have been dreaming together about how we might renovate and decorate it to make it ours.  And last night, the negotiations went awesome.  We paid only what we wanted to pay, no excess and we take possession in only three weeks! Our agent, Gina Roman, was a miracle worker!  Seriously if you need a referral for a great agent, let me know I would recommend her in a heartbeat.   Today our mortgage broker had some other ideas for us to save some money on taxes as a first time home owner which is even better; we will save another four thousand dollars in taxes, money which I can immediately put to good use in renovating the kitchen to the kitchen of my dreams.  It was a wonderful night and there is no feeling in the world like one when you are driving home in dark, lit only by streetlights, in the car with your guy, knowing you have your first home together.  I am so happy.  And to add to my happiness I came to work today to find out our bonuses for the year will be even higher than expected.  And great surprise and joy.  What a month this has been, first New Year’s in old Quebec city, then the photo shoot for the cookbook cover, then travel for work last week and buying our first home this week, and now my bonus.  I can’t imagine what next week will hold.  We are so blessed right now, prayers have been answered and gratitude and thanks are due.  Blissfully happy, with dreams of new kitchens dancing in my head!
