It’s a new year and I am filled with a new energy and enthusiasm! Today has been an amazing day. We are back from our holiday in Quebec city, visiting friends and enjoying some much needed rest. And today, I jumped with both feet right back into the adventure of getting this cookbook ready for publication. This afternoon, I caught up with my photographer and we went to check out the lighting in the kitchen where we will shoot the cookbook cover on Saturday. I can hardly believe it is happening this fast right now but sure enough there we stood in the kitchen talking about storyboards and art concepts and how to stage the food and where to put the models. It was so exciting. And I have been confirming the models for Saturday. I have done pretty well with women models; I have lots of amazing, intelligent, beautiful girlfriends and the male models are starting to look up as well. I just called a close friend who found me the perfect addition to my male model stable! He is young, just the right age for the cover, boyishly handsome and full of life. I also roped my younger and handsome brother to come to the shoot and I have one dashing late fifties model who is willing to the cover as well. Just going to look for a few more this week as last minute replacement in case any one can’t make it and we should be all set. It is really getting exciting. My guy and I were talking at dinner about what I should prepare for the cover, and how we should stage it and whether I should get the photographer, Lesley, to do some food shots as well. I think we will shoot in the kitchen obviously, but also maybe the dining room and if we feel inspired maybe a fun, tongue in cheek shoot in the bathtub! Just for fun. I am so excited and have a lot of work ahead of me but this all just feels like a great, rolling, rocking adventure. Almost surreal. Now if I could just get all the recipes tested and transcribed we could pull this trick off!
