Baking a carrot cake for the photo shoot - wanna piece?

We are making progress!  After some frantic chasing, it looks like we will have a professional make up artist after all.  My friend Lesley, the photographer for Saturday, came through in the end and found an aspiring make up artist student at the local college who is studying theatre and photography make up artistry who is looking for more experience and to build her portfolio, perfect for this Saturday.  One less worry off my mind.  I spent my lunch hour here at work in the grocery store, picking up ingredients for tonight.  On the docket this evening, I am baking my decadent carrot cake, complete with pineapple, coconut and walnuts, finished with cream cheese icing and covered in coconut and crushed hazelnuts.  I just love it, moist and very delicious.  And I hope it will photograph well for the cover.  It will join the other food being featured on the counters, tables and in the models’ hands during the shoot.  Sitting upon a cake pedestal, this cake so look both regal and scrumptious!  I am also am going to spend some time tonight finalizing the food and menu for the shoot so I know where to concentrate tomorrow.  Saturday morning is almost here, wooo hoooo.  Wish me luck that my cake turns out perfect.  Otherwise tomorrow’s blog will all be about tips and tricks to hide your baking mistakes and still have a perfect looking dish to put on the table!
